Welcome to our new blog
Welcome to the first post on our new blog!
Since we launched in 2017, Energy Sparks has been growing steadily. But the last 12 months have been particularly busy.
We’ve doubled the number of schools who are now using the service and are in the process of adding even more.
We’ve expanded and refreshed our range of educational activities and other energy saving actions.
We’ve launched new features including the ability for schools to set targets to reduce their energy consumption and track their progress. And we are now delivering energy audits, educational workshops and more training sessions.
We’ve also grown both the team and our group of trustees and the list of partners that we’re working with across the country.
And that growth is going to accelerate over the next twelve months. But more on those plans in future posts.
While we will be continuing to provide regular updates and advice to users via social media and our newsletters, we’ve realised that we needed an additional space to talk about our work more broadly, and to share insights from the team.
So we’re launching this blog as a means for us to:
- offer advice and insights for schools about how to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions
- reflect on policy changes and current events, to help advocate for the change required to achieve net-zero
- provide updates from the team about how we are developing and improving the service
- tell stories about our work and impact
- and share news and announcements about the charity
We’re intending to include contributions from across the whole team, as well as from our amazing partners.
If you’re interested in following our work, then watch this space!
